Chapter Four:
...Grant Me Your Time...
It was after the practice when Toma took the chance to return the gawking eyes of his once childhood friend—the person he became close with at the time when they were still juniors in the entertainment industry. He wasn’t sure if he’d really look but then his own instinct was to initially return the heated attention he was receiving. Actually, at first, he pretended not to notice Jun’s obvious awareness of him. He knew he didn’t want to start his reunion with him with this kind of strained atmosphere lingering between the two of them.
When he turned away his eyes from Ohno’s sweat-stained face, he directed his eyes to Jun. But now, Jun’s eyes were not looking at him anymore. His full attention was immediately focused on Ohno. For Toma, it wasn’t difficult to perceive the closeness of their relationship—the way they look at each other, the way Ohno lets Jun tease him, and the way Jun always puts his arms around Ohno’s waist or shoulders. It was like there was more to their friendship compared to the others whom he can sense were only playing around with them.
“Toma-san?” Toma instantly snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Ohno’s voice only inches away from him. The older man was slightly leaning on him.
He was going to smile at him, but before he could curve his lips, he saw the arm of Jun securely wrapped around Ohno’s waist. For some reason, he didn’t want to see Ohno being held like that often. He bit his lip and looked up at his sempai, only to see Jun wiping Ohno’s face and the smaller man doing the same but in a joking manner. They were both laughing when the others teased them about being too intimate with each other. And Toma can’t help it but to say something which he didn’t mean to state aloud.
“Are the rumors true?” He asked.
It was too late when he realized the stupidity of his question.
Everyone turned their heads to him, even the other staff who were about to exit the studio and leave the whole Arashi to do whatever they want.
“Uhhh…you mean the ‘Jun and Satoshi too close to be friends’ issue?” Nino was the one who broke the silence and curiosity of everyone.
“I’m sorry…but yeah, that’s what I’m talking about.” Toma cleared his throat, thinking that he might’ve offended either any of the Arashi members—especially Ohno.
Nino turned to Ohno and Jun. Then observing them and seeing how they were positioned, a wide smirk graced his lips.
“Oi Sammii…Jun, don’t make it too obvious. You know, if everyone confirms about your relationship—“ Nino stopped as he heard the shuffling sounds from the other staff members who were hiding from behind the slightly closed door. “We might get too popular!”
They laughed.
“Actually…” Jun was starting, his arms now around Ohno’s narrow shoulders, “Tonight—“ His next words were hindered as Ohno pulled him down, encircling his arm around half of Jun’s face to cover his mouth and stop him from mentioning about their agreement lately.
“You know you made it more obvious.” Sho said, smiling like a journalist about to write something that will be put to the headlines.
Ohno actually looked like he was about to kiss Jun. Their position resembled the time when they were in one of their live concerts—Jun had approached Ohno and then pulled him forward, leaning and pressing his face close to the smaller male’s. The camera’s view showed as if Jun had kissed him on the lips, but in reality, he was only whispering something.
But today’s case was vice versa for it was Ohno who pulled down Jun.
Toma’s brows creased. He wanted to get out of the room to evade himself from seeing more of the things he‘s not used to. He wanted to turn away his eyes from Jun and Ohno. He wanted to avoid the strange feelings that were being aroused inside him. Why does he feel…irritated? Why does he feel as if he was being deprived of something? Why does he feel so…jealous? This was not right, Toma thought. He shouldn’t be feeling like this when he’s aware that he cannot compare his affiliation with Ohno to the relationship the older male has with the other members. He’s not allowed yet to have this kind of sensitivity.
Toma straightened up on his seat, accidentally causing a loud screech that echoed through the room. Once again, everyone’s eyes landed on him.
“Uhh…I think I better get going.” He said, standing up.
“Already?” Ohno asked, his hands slipping off of Jun’s face as he spoke. His face saddened a little. He was going to approach Toma but Jun’s firm hold had immediately stopped his attempted movement. He gave the taller man a questioning look.
“Yeah. My manager sent me a message that he’s going to give me my schedule so I can prepare for tomorrow.” Toma returned his phone inside his pocket. “Thank you for letting me watch your practice.” He gave them a small bow before walking towards the exit door of the studio. He stopped as he was about to push open the door.
“Ohno-san…” He turned to face Ohno with a smile. “I hope to working with you again.” He ignored how Jun’s yes slightly widened at his words. “I wish…to be able to work with you again.” He gave him a wink before totally leaving the room.
“In which I will be sure of…” Toma whispered to himself.
Before passing a hallway, he paused for awhile as he caught a glimpse of someone hiding near the exit door of the studio he just went out from. The man looked like he was fixing some object. Toma raised his brow at this and decided to approach the guy. But his ringing phone reminded him of his manager waiting outside his house.

Once the whole Arashi group was back on their dressing room, everyone went back to their usual routine conversations. And the odd thing was, Jun kept on smiling the whole time. He was also enthusiastic as he went on joking around with the others.
“Oi…something’s weird.” Aiba whispered to Sho who was still laughing at Jun’s last joke.
“What? But I don’t really sense any weirdness—shit that’s so funny!” Sho said between laughs.
Aiba rolled his eyes. He wasn’t actually listening to Jun’s jokes for he can’t help but notice the guy’s unusual hyper state.
“Here, another story…there was a rat who approached an elephant and whispered something to him. The elephant fainted afterwards. What do you think did the rat tell the elephant?” Jun asked them, trying to keep himself from laughing.
Nobody answered.
“What did the rat say?” Nino asked, waiting for what Jun was about to say.
“The rat whispered, ‘I’m pregnant and you’re the father!’”
Everybody laughed, even Aiba who wasn’t listening lately.
“Wait there’s more! There’s a continuation.”
“The next day the elephant visited the rat to invite her to go the doctor to confirm if he really got the rat pregnant. After the check-up, the doctor talked to the elephant. The elephant then whispered something to the rat while smiling. The rat fainted. What do you think did the elephant tell the rat?” He waited for anyone who might be able to answer him. No one did and when he was going to continue, Ohno spoke,
“Wait! I think I know the answer…” He stuck out his chin and then rubbed it a little. Then he grinned sheepishly. “The elephant whispered to the rat that he was indeed the father of her children and that they are going to have twins!”
“Wow! You got it right!” Jun laughed.
After everybody were done fixing their things, each of them set out to go back to their own apartments except for Ohno who was pulled by Jun to go with him in his sports car. Jun checked his watch as they were now both settled inside his auto.
“It’s only six thirty. We can have a quick shopping.” He muttered before starting up the engine.
“Shopping for what?” Ohno asked while fixing the seatbelt over his chest.
“For some decent clothes. We can’t wear our casual clothes to the restaurant where I made a reservation.”
“Wait…you’re not planning to go to a very expensive restaurant, right?” Ohno said.
“Hm well…I’m sure you can handle it.” He answered.
When he noticed that Ohno suddenly became quiet, he glanced to the side to check why the smaller male was silent. He smiled when he saw Ohno checking the contents of his wallet.
“Don’t look!” Ohno muttered, shifting his body to face towards the window as if to hide whatever he was doing.
“Alright. Alright. Just make sure I won’t be obliged to pay for my own food when we get there.” He smiled and went back concentrating on the road.
“Found it!” Jun heard Ohno and glanced once again at his side to see what his leader found. He was only able to see the tip of the silver shining object Ohno slipped inside the back pocket of his pants. But then he knew immediately what it was.
Jun didn’t go to a large mall. Instead he chose the boutique where he usually shops or have his clothe-fitting sessions. There it was private for most of their customers were the rich and the celebrities only. He parked his car in front of the boutique.
Since it was already late, he knew that the shop might be free from any presence of other customers. He was thankful when they got inside and confirmed that what he expected was right.
He actually wished that his whole night would only be exclusive with his leader.
“Welcome Matsumoto-san, Ohno-san.” The female who greeted them bowed.
Jun was surprised when the female also greeted Ohno in his surname for it was only the first time he brought Ohno in this certain place.
“What can I serve you two with? Would you prefer tea o juice?” The female who was in charge of them asked. Her eyes were fixed on Ohno.
“Uhh…no thanks.” Ohno answered, returning the smile of the female.
“We’re here to buy clothes.” Jun spoke.
“Oh yes sir. Here, follow me. There are actually new arrivals from our designer.” She said as she was leading them to a new room.
“Wow…this doesn’t look like a boutique. It’s more like an apartment full with celebrity wardrobes.” Ohno muttered.
“This is where I usually buy my clothes. This was recommended by my first manager.”
“Oh. I don’t go to these kinds of places often. It makes me feel like I’ll always make a hole out of my wallet.”
“You’re really next to Nino when it comes to being stingy of buying what you need or want.”
“It’s not like that. I just feel…it’s like a waste of money to spoil myself.” Ohno sat down on the couch as Jun headed to check out the new arrivals the female sales lady mentioned to them.
“Come here.” Jun said after taking out the clothes that caught his taste. He gave Ohno a stylish vest, a dark brown polo, slacks, and a jacket. He looked at Ohno’s footwear before asking for the sales lady to get them some pairs of leather shoes. He picked himself some clothes too, but then, let Ohno fit all what he had given him first before changing his own clothes.
After a few moments, Ohno went out of the dressing room with a pout on his face.
“God you look great riida!” Jun smiled but then raised his brow at seeing the other male’s pout. “What’s with the expression?”
“Kawaii….” Jun turned to the sales lady when he heard her whisper something.
“You know…this is too formal to suit me.” Ohno said, looking at himself on the full body-sized mirror. “I’m getting nervous at the restaurant you’re going to bring me.”
“Don’t worry about that. By the way…you’re shoulders are too narrow for the jacket and yet it’s already the smallest size. What kind of body do you have? It’s almost like a girl’s.”
Both of them turned to the sales lady when they heard her giggle.
“I think she agrees to that.” Jun smiled, loving how Ohno pouted more. He looked so cute whenever he does that.

“Wow…these kind of formal clothes really suits you. I remember the time when you were chosen to be the actor of the ‘great Domyouji heir” and that you have to wear such clothes, I thought I’d laugh at you. But then you looked so nice.” Ohno said with an admiring expression on his face. “Compared to me, I’m just like the dressed-up ‘Tsukushi Makino’.”
Jun smiled.
“At the time when I was filming ‘Hana Yori Dango’, how I wished she was you.” He murmured.
“What?” Ohno asked for he wasn’t able to pick up Jun’s words clearly.
“You cannot be compared to Tsukushi Makino.” Jun answered him before stopping the car inside the exclusive parking lot of the restaurant.
Both of them got out of the car and then Jun led Ohno to the elevator. They went out when the elevator stopped at the third floor and there, Ohno was surprised at the welcome greetings they received by servants dressed in formal attires.
Jun led him to their reserved place. It was a spot, a private room so far away from the other customers who were silently eating.
Once both of them sat on the costly couch, Ohno closed his eyes and slouched on the soft settee. Jun gave him the menu after a female servant, who looked more like a secretary, left.
“I think we should order fast so we won’t waste time waiting long for the food.”
“Ah. Alright.” Ohno straightened up a little to focus on the menu. His eyes slightly widened at the delectable pictures of food he saw. It was so tempting to order so many dishes, but he restrained himself and ordered only what he’s sure his stomach can accommodate.
“Are you ready with your order?” Jun asked.
When Ohno nodded, Jun pushed a button that was located near the right edge of their glass table. A few seconds passed and the female servant who gave the menu went in to ask for their orders. The two stated their orders.
As the female servant was listing their orders, she kept on travelling her eyes at the two popular young men. Jun smiled at this and thought of something so he pulled Ohno to him, whispering some senseless nothings to the smaller male. He glanced at the servant and saw her trying to stop herself from blushing.
“That’s all we have to order. We’ll just call for assistance if we need something else.” Jun spoke.
“Uhh…yes sir.” The female left hesitantly.

“I’m really sorry about…making you wait the other day.” Ohno said after swallowing the last food he was eating. “I became preoccupied in worrying about Toma-san’s state.”
Jun coughed as he heard Toma’s name from Ohno’s mouth. He drank before responding.
“Actually…I wasn’t mad about it. I was more like…disappointed that you forgot to call me and tell me what happened to you. I was sick worried you know.” Jun stared into Ohno’s sincere eyes. It made him feel guilty of cornering Ohno lately before they had practices because of some wrong judgment he accused of him.
When he looked at Ohno, he saw him smiling to himself.
“I’m…relieved.”—Was all what Ohno replied to him.
“Don’t flatter yourself. Even if I’m not really mad at you, that doesn’t mean I have forgiven you for forgetting about me.”
Ohno laughed softly.
“I ordered us some wine alright.”
Ohno nodded.
While Jun was choosing their wine, Ohno decided to pay for their bill. He reached for the board that was lying over the side table and opened it.
He stared at the bill as if contemplating whether they had really attained this much just by ordering six dishes—for the bill pronounced: “478,000 yen”.
He slid his hand inside the back pocket of his pants and started fumbling for his platinum card. He straightened up suddenly when he found that his card was missing. Then realizing that he had changed his clothes and forgot to transfer his card into the pocket of his new pants, he tapped his palm over his forehead in frustration.
“Something wrong?” Jun asked as he heard a soft tap sound.
“Uhh…no not really.” Ohno stood up. “I’ll…just go to the men’s room.” He smiled at Jun before dashing out of their private room.
When he was out, he was thinking of getting his platinum card from Jun’s car.
“Crap! How can I open MatsuJun’s car?” Ohno murmured to himself.
Accidentally, he bumped the female who was serving them.
“Uhh…excuse me, where can I—“ He paused, checking if he had at least brought his wallet and had placed it in one of his jacket’s pockets. “Where can I withdraw some cash?” He asked once he has confirmed that his wallet was luckily with him.
“Oh…you can go straight to that hallway and then turn left. There is an automated-teller machine that our customers can use.” She smiled.
“Thank you very much.” He said and ran towards the hallway.
As soon as he turned left, he saw the machine the female told him about. He pulled out his wallet from his jacket’s back pocket. He counted first the bills he have in his wallet and then inserted his ATM card into the machine. He withdrew about three hundred thousand yen, and folded the thick bundle of money. He went back to approach the counter and paid for the bill.
“Thank you for choosing our place. We hope to serve you again.” The manager of the place bowed to them as they went for the exit door.
Jun was already outside when he noticed that Ohno wasn’t with him. He went back inside and immediately saw Ohno talking to the girl who served them lately. He saw him insist the girl to accept the cash he was giving her. When the girl accepted it, Jun approached Ohno and put his arm around the smaller male.
“I thought you were already outside.” Ohno said, slightly turning away his head from Jun’s inch-distanced face.
“I was but then I saw you giving a huge tip to that girl.” He was going to ask how much but dismissed his curiousness.
“Oh. She actually saved me.”
“Saved you from what?...Uhh…by the way, you surprised me when I saw you paid in cash. It’s dangerous if you bring so much.”
“I know. But I only had 200, 000 yen and I forgot my platinum card inside my pants so I had to withdraw. She was the one who gave me the way.” Ohno answered when they were already walking towards the elevator.
“It’s too late. Stay at my house tonight.” Jun said while driving his car out of the parking lot and was already getting to the road.
“Can you just—“ Ohno suddenly felt his lips being lightly pressed by Jun’s.
“Let me…” Jun whispered breathlessly. It was too much for him to restrain himself when Ohno was so near to him.
It was too much to just let him give away his charm to others.

He was tirelessly hoping that Ohno would only appreciate and recognize his presence.

Haha...maybe I got excited from updating and well...this is somewhat long again. But I hope you'll like it! :D By the way if my update was different from what you expected, I want to be reasonable. Actually I changed some parts and decided to insert it to my next chapters instead. I kinda got a different view so I can prolong my story. hehe...I hope you enjoyed it...somehow...hehe. ^_^
